Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP) is the largest writers organization and publishes the magazine The Writer’s Chronicle. They also host the annual AWP conference every spring.
Creative Writers Opportunities Blog is maintained by poet and editor Allison Joseph. Joseph posts calls for creative writing submissions, creative writing jobs, and awards.
Duotrope is an exhaustive database of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and visual art publishers (both literary journals and presses). This subscription-based service also provides a submissions tracker and a calendar with calls for submissions.
Entropy offers a current listing of calls for submissions from presses for anthologies, chapbooks, and books, literary journals, residencies, and fellowships.
NewPages is an excellent resource that offers calls for submissions from literary journals, publishers, contests, and residencies. They also have sections where they review new issues of literary journals and books.
Poets & Writers is one of the best print magazines that highlights the craft of writing. The magazine also features interviews with poets and writers and calls for submissions. All GWA members receive a complimentary one-year subscription to Poets & Writers.
