Maggie Mitchell will be offering online fiction consultations for GWA this March and April! Maggie Mitchell’s first novel, Pretty Is, which The New York Times called “a stunning, multi-layered debut,” was released by Henry Holt in 2015. A finalist for the Townsend Prize, it was simultaneously published in the UK by Orion, followed by translations in German, Dutch, French and Romanian. Her short fiction has appeared in New Ohio Review, American Literary Review, Green Mountains Review, and elsewhere. Her story “It Would Be Different If” is included in The Bedford Introduction to Literature. She has been awarded fellowships at the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Millay Colony for the Arts. She lives in Atlanta and teaches at the University of West Georgia, where she directs the creative writing program.
Maggie is accepting fiction for line edits and content critique. Please see here for fees and guidelines. The deadline to submit work for these consultations is May 1. Maggie will complete her work and respond to all participants by June 1.
