I’m a mother, wife, sister, and daughter, have waited tables, been a dental assistant, teacher, journalist, gardener and architectural administrative assistant. I’ve traveled in Europe, New Zealand, and the US. French and English are my languages of preference, with a little Spanish on the side. I grew up in Florida, lived four years in Georgia before moving to Texas for eighteen years. For the moment, I once again find myself in Georgia. My writing day consists of different things, though I am working on streamlining my day. I try to write at least three hours a day, really write. Not research, not online writing as in keeping up with my presence on the internet. I mean putting words on paper or revising words already there. I want more than three hours so am working toward that goal.
I've just come back from three weeks in France. My first Christmas there ever. Must say I wasn't ready to come home. Three days home tomorrow and I'm starting to get back into the swing of things thanks to all my online contacts and organizations! There is so much to catch up on and so much to do. If I think about it too much I get overwhelmed. So I will take it one day at a time. More posts soon!
I am a part of a small writer’s group here in my area and each week we pick a word and write whatever we want to pertaining in some way to that word. One of our words was “Mountain.” Here is what I wrote…

What do you do at 2 am when you can’t sleep? Tonight, or should I say this morning, I got up, logged on and caught up on “Words with Friends,” email, Facebook and Twitter. Found some interesting new ideas for marketing. Now, since I’m still n ...
I finally seem to have made it to Smashwords.com. It isn't a simple thing to be on their site as their formatting qualifications are steep. But, it helps to pay someone to do the formatting for you and it isn't (or wasn't for me) prohibitively expens ...
Jill Jones, my wonderful friend, mentor and multi-published author got the photos she took to me yesterday so I can now write a bit about how the book signing/reading went! I’m happy again just thinking about it and the thirty-odd peo ...
Trying to get a link to my blog on here... meanwhile, if you'd like, check out http://celticadlx.blogspot.com/ and see what's happening in south Georgia...
You're right, most of them now have windows, I'd forgotten that! I was imagining a small space... I'll be in Black Mountain, right next to Asheville in two weeks. The signing is on the 17th at the Monte Vista inn. You can google it. It's a great old hotel with much charm and has recently been renovated. I've posted it on FB and here and everywhere I can think of!!!
It may sound like an unattainable dream, but, one thing that helps me motivate when I don't feel strong, is to remember my husband, Geoffrey, and how he has stuck to his career to give us a very good life. I would LOVE to someday be able to offer the same to him. To give him the choice of whether or not he wants to work outside the home. Whenever I'm feeling sorry for myself or unsure of what I'm doing, I think of him and how he supports me in all ways. How can I do less? This is a key for me, to think outside of myself, because I feel that when I don't at least try to live up to more than I think I can be, that is a selfish way to think. It works for me to think of others and what I can share with them. Posting here and on my blog, twitter, linked in, whatever also helps. Gets me out of my head!
Tammy, great post. Thanks for sharing. I too, have those days where inspiration, or just plain downright self motivation is difficult to find. I too, use my blog to help get jump started sometimes. Twitter is also a good way to ease back in for me when I'm unmotivated to move. Also, making sure I have the time to write every day is a challenge. For some reason it scares me...I think it has to do with belief in myself and my abilities, my lack of at times. Writing is not an easy task but it sure is amazing how good one feels at the end of a good 'writing' day...
I am the Real Housewife of Douglasville. I know because I have a wine glass engraved with the title. I've written for the Douglasville Patch a little over a year. Here is the latest ...
