dis-ABILITIES: Fiction is a collection of literary works by and/or about persons with disabilities written by traditional and emerging authors.  The purpose behind the volume is to bring together in one collection those works that tell stories of humanity dealing with life's challenges.  If you have written or know of a literary work that addresses the overarching topic, please share it electronically with the editors.  Send to dorkenn@yahoo.com by way of attachment in a pdf or doc file. Short Stories of up to 5,000 words are welcome; please no poetry, drama, or creative non-fiction. Include 100 word bio, publication history of submission, and contact information.  Payment for selected works will be in the form of two (2) complimentary copies of the published book. The publishing house is currently being negotiated. Submissions must be received by September 15, 2008.
The editors, Dorothy Dodge Robbins and Kenneth Robbins, have published three collections: Christmas Stories from Louisiana (University Press of Mississippi, 2003), Christmas on the Great Plains (University of Iowa Press, 2004), and Christmas Stories from Georgia (University Press of Mississippi, 2005).  Both are professors at Louisiana Tech University
