Anne H. Farrissee![]() 44th GAYA WINNER Creative Non-Fiction: Specialty Book Democracy Restored: A History of the Georgia State Capitol with Dr. Timothy Crimmins Anne H. Farrisee is the Director, Preservation Services for The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, the nation’s largest statewide preservation organization. Farrisee directs many of the preservation programs for The Trust, including its preservation assistance efforts, the Georgia Preservation Non-profits collaborative effort, Places in Peril, and the annual preservation awards. Farrisee has been associated with the Georgia State Capitol since 1993, when she began working for the Commission for the Preservation of the State Capitol as the project historian for the statehouse’s rehabilitation. As part of this effort, she prepared a comprehensive history of the building, its site, and contents. She worked on research team that developed exhibits about the Capitol’s history and architecture, now installed on the fourth floor, and she composed a script for an online tour of the Capitol. Her final project in this capacity has been to co-author Democracy Restored: A History of the Georgia State Capitol with Dr. Timothy Crimmins. |
