Stephen Mihm
Stephen Mihm earned a B.A. Degree in Classical Archaeology and a B.A. Degree and Ph.D. in American History from New York University. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the University of Georgias History Department. His publications include A Nation of Counterfeiters: Capitalists, Con Men, and the Making of the United and Artificial Parts and Practical Lives: Modern Histories of Prosthetics. His research interests are the cultural, business, and economic history of the nineteenth-century United States, with special interests in the history of counterfeiting, money and banking, and financial speculation. His current project is a cultural and business history of the patent medicine industry in nineteenth-century America.
