For all Georgia writers: We are accepting submissions for the 2009 Essential Theatre Playwriting Award competition. Given annually since 2001, this is the only prize of its kind, exclusively dedicated to the work of resident Georgia playwrights. All unproduced plays are eligible; there are no restrictions as to style, subject matter or length (though preference is given to plays with a running time of at least an hour. The winning playwright will receive a cash prize of $500, and the play will be given a full production as part of the 2009 Power Plays Festival. Submissions can be e-mailed to pmhardy@aol.com in MSWord format only, or sent by regular mail to: Please make sure that your contact information is on the front page of the script, and that the pages are numbered.
