Ellen Springer can help you to navigate the mine fields in the business world and avoid the School of Hard Knocks in starting and running a successful business.

Ellen Springer is a business leader who is well-known and respected in the community and has received numerous awards. Her business was honored as one of the 2007 Top 25 Small Businesses in Cobb County by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. She was honored as the Kennesaw Citizen of the Year in 2005 by the Kennesaw Business Association and the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. She received the 2006 Kennesaw Mayoral Award for Excellence, the 2006 National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Women Entrepreneur Inspiration Award, the 2005-2006 Kiwanis President’s Honor Roll for Outstanding Service, and she was honored as a Woman of Achievement by the YWCA of NW Georgia in 1995.

She has recently been nominated for the 2008 SBA-Financial Services Champion Award for her work to promote small businesses. In an effort to reach more businesses and reduce the number of small businesses that FAIL, she wrote a book: Turning Your Dream Business Into Your Bread and Butter: Recipes for Running Your Business From Scratch (March, 2007, Morgan James). Her book has been nominated for one of the 2008 Georgia Writers Association Awards.

She is the President of Strategic Business Resources, Inc., Legacy Wealth Management, Inc. and Run a Successful Business, Inc. She has provided business consulting, financial advising and tax services to businesses, professional practices and individuals for over 25 years.

Ellen has held many leadership positions. She is a graduate of the Leadership Cobb Program and is a member of the current Honorary Commander Class. She is Chairman of the Kennesaw State University Planned Giving Committee, Treasurer of Visions Anew, and Treasurer of the YWCA of the SE Region. She was Treasurer of the Kennesaw Parks & Greenspace Exploratory Committee to promote the passing of the successful Bond Referendum to purchase land and to build park facilities for Kennesaw and the surrounding communities in 2004. A few of her previous leadership positions include: Past Chairman of the YWCA of NW Georgia, Past President of the Georgia Society of CPA’s-North Atlanta Chapter, Past President of the Estate Planning Council of North Georgia, and Past-President of the Women in Financial Services-Atlanta Chapter.

Ellen is a member of the Kennesaw United Methodist Church and has 2 children: daughter, Liz (26) a lawyer in Florida, and Lee (21) who is attending Kennesaw State University.
