Nominations for the 2015 Georgia Author of the Year Awards (GAYA) will begin Saturday, November 1, 2014. Books published in the year 2014 are eligible for nomination. Once you’ve carefully reviewed the guidelines, you may submit your nomination along with the requested materials, including the $60.00 nomination fee and the author’s headshot and book cover images. This year, new categories have been added!
New fiction categories include: Detective/Mystery, Graphic Novel, Humor, Romance, Sci-fi/Fantasy, and Supernatural/Paranormal. Animal Book has also been added to the nonfiction categories. Descriptions of all the available categories can be found in the guidelines. Please read the descriptions carefully before selecting the category under which you wish to place your nomination.

Do I have to be a GWA member to be nominated?
No, you do not have to be a member of the GWA to be nominated.
Can I nominate myself?
Yes. Nominations may be submitted by the author, the author’s friend, family member, publisher, agent, etc.
What if my category has too few nominees?
If a category does not meet the required, 4-book minimum, the author will have the opportunity to select the next best category. If no other category is chosen, the nomination fee will be refunded.
When will the winners be announced?
Winners and Finalists will be announced at the GAYA Banquet.
When is the GAYA Banquet?
The banquet and ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the KSU Center (3333 Busbee Drive, Kennesaw, GA 30144).
